Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been sentenced to life in prison by a Federal High Court in Abuja. He was found guilty on all seven terrorism charges against him.

Justice James Omotosho, who delivered the verdict, called Kanu a terrorist whose actions have caused violence and instability in the South-East. Instead of protecting his people, the judge said, Kanu has put lives and national security at risk.

The judge also pointed out that the prosecution provided strong and believable evidence in the case, while Kanu chose not to present a defense, relying only on the prosecution’s case.

Justice Omotosho is still delivering the remaining part of the judgment.
