Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly struck a deal with Manchester United over personal terms as he edges closer to a potential summer transfer, according to Turkish journalist Serdar Çelikler.
"Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement with Manchester United, but the club side of the deal is still pending," Çelikler shared during a podcast.
Currently on loan at Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray, the Nigerian international has been in dazzling form this season, scoring 29 goals and providing 6 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
Manchester United’s primary focus in the transfer market is believed to be securing a top-class striker, especially given Rasmus Højlund’s disappointing season, with the Danish forward netting just three Premier League goals. New head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly eager to part ways with the underperforming striker in the summer.
Although personal terms with Osimhen are said to be settled, United is still negotiating with Napoli over the transfer fee. The striker has a release clause set at €75 million (£63m), though reports indicate that the Serie A club might be open to offering a discount.
While Juventus has long been linked with Osimhen, Napoli is unwilling to sell to a direct rival, which only strengthens Manchester United’s position in the race for his signature.
