Four players are set to miss out on receiving Premier League winners' medals for Manchester City - despite playing for the club this season.

City won their fourth consecutive Premier League crown - the first English club to do so in top division history - with a final day win over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium.

Phil Foden's second-minute strike calmed the nerves of City fans, with the England star then adding a second before half-time.

Although Mohammed Kudus pulled one back with an acrobatic bicycle kick, Rodri's second half drive ended the match as a contest.

City will therefore receive their Premier League winners' medals - with the league handing out 40 medals to be assigned amongst manager Pep Guardiola, the players and the coaching/backroom staff.

The rule in place is that every player who has played at least five Premier League appearances will receive one.

A total of 21 City players have featured in the Premier League this season, meaning City would have 19 medals to be shared across the coaches and other members of the playing squad, if they choose to do so.

Clubs can send a request to the Premier League to be given more medals, but this will only be granted if 39 or more players have made five or more appearances.

As it stands, though, four players are set to miss out on receiving medals, despite playing their (small) part in City's success this season - although there is a potential technicality involved.

All four of those players are no longer with the club, with two of those players departing on permanent deals.
